Just finished building my new rig and its working wonders.

I have a nice o/c on it @ present ( see below ), prime stable for 12 hours, no problems at all. I am just wondering how much further can push it on air?

Keep going until you hit 1.55v or 55 degrees under load if you want.
You may also be limited by the max fsb of the board.

I hope your folding for the team with that :)

That's a pretty good OC. My E3 Venice 3000+ needed 1.5V to do 2.5Ghz. I've not tried pushing it any further but will do soon, when I lap my Freezer 64 Pro, which is horribly machine marked and the IHS on the CPU.

Give it some more juice! Mine managed 2.8 with 1.71v

To see if your limited by the board, drop the all the multis and dividers down to half and up the HTT as much as poss

Whats the cpu stepping?

optey 146 at 2.7Ghz here, not even sure what folding is but if you care to enlighten me by e-mail then i may consider it.

Nice OC to start, I manages to hit 3Ghz stable with my 3000+ and 1.55v :D

i run at 2.6 24/7 though, until i can be bothered to find a better OC for the RAM.

I hope you've done a mem test to make sure its all good. I've clocked myn to 2.5 with 1.65V and I didn't do one and now I've lost a lot of work which i din't have time to back up

Update

I did write the stepping down but lost the paper it was on - sorry. When i Fancy pulling it apart again i will take a look.

I did also run memtest for over 12 hours while i was away - all is fine.

I have been running the system now for a few days testing lots of apps and games and had no problems at all, system runs like a dream. Not bad for a £61 chip.

Anyway last night I pushed the chipset up to 1.5v raised clock to 300 and managed to get 2.7ghz, ran all the tests overnight and still no problems. I cannot believe how far this chip o/c's. Although as soon as i finished all the tests this morning i ran EQ2 and the PC crashed after 30 mins. (Dont know if its related to o/c).

Anyway im happy with it @ 2.5 on standard voltage and its running pretty cool even under load so will keep it at that.
