Am finally making the plunge from socket a to S939 but what a minefield, gone are the days of FSB*clock it seems and this HTT thing seems to be quite tricky.
Have bought and A64 3700+ SD and am going to get the ASrock 939 Dual, will run my AGP 9600XT for a while longer until i can scrape some more funds together for PCIe and i was wondering if i could also get some more mileage out of my memory? I have 2*256mb PC2700 crucial & 1*512mb PC3200 Nanya. I know i can't run these in dual channel mode but was wondering if i could still run them @ PC2700 with the A64? Will it create much of a bottleneck? I'm not a performance geek and prob couldn't tell the diff between 30fps and 60fps and i don't really play games that much anyway.

:p i hate to say it but i run pc2700 in this A64 3400+ rig and actualy, for what the ram is (very cheap brandless 1gig stick) it runs very well! (scarely)

personaly on neither my msi board or my asus did i need to touch anything :) it just worked
