whilst the missus was out shopping, i spent a fruitful day doing a voltmod and overclocking.... bliss :)

i've got some good results but am being thwarted by pc3200 ram and a puny selection of memory dividers.
i've downloaded a64 tweaker and it has the dividers i need to get the cpu frequency and memory to the sweetspots. (a bit higher than the moment)
i noticed you can save settings and apply them at startup.

has anyone here used this utility in this fashion and can vouch for its stability?
im wary of startup applications etc on a highly clocked system and have seen more than enough of the cmos jumper today thank you!

out of interest i got my 4400+ (939) up from 2.55 to 2.75, (crapped out on superpi over this) could'nt get a high enough memory speed and settled for 266ghz with 221 (266x10 & 166 div) on the memory......
very suprised at that, 2 gig geil value at 1t!

if anyone has an asrock dual 939 sata/vsta mobo i thoughroly recommend the vcore mod.

X2 4400+ (939) @ 2.66
Asrock dual 939 VSTA (vid 4 - 1.55 Vcore mod)
2 Gig Geil value kit @ 221
Gainward 7800GS+ 512 AGP @ 600/1400
Hiper 580w

I run my 3700SD at
270x10 on a 333 divider with mem (2x1gig Geil Value) at 225 1T 2.5/3/3/7
This is at 1.55V which is the max my A8N SLI Delux will allow.
I wouldnt mind volt modding my mobo as my temps are very good at load (swiftech water kit).

Is your ram stable at that freq?
those are good timings and frequencies for a 2 gig value kit!
i know my cpu goes a bit higher than 2.7 so i'll try that combination you gave.

Its stable, this RAM is known to run well at fairly high speeds (for value ram). I stick 2.95 volts through it and its only slightly warm. Ive run it stable at 230 with these timings before but 235 isnt prime stable.

Ah, i can only get 2.7Vmem on my poxy Asrock

trouble is i can't swap it to say, a DFI or A8N etc cos i've got a great AGP gfx card.

did you try A64 tweaker?
that would give me a mem divider to get a juicy 2.7 clock whilst not having instability on *** RAM.

Il have a look at it, il post later how i get on.

well i tried it and i just get instant blackscreen and crash.....
even lowered all the clocks etc.

shame as i pushed the ram just from 221 to 222 and it craps out in superpi.
guess its at the limit with this mobo :(

i assume from the screeny i am doing it right? choose your memclock then hit set?

thx for the linky i'll read it later.

Can't change the fundamental ones like dividers, change them in the bios. Choose the best speed and clocks (the big 4) in the bios, then use A64 tweaker as in the guide to tweak. The tweaks are just that - the finishing touches.

Edit: also, chances are the 166 is a DFI divider only. The mobo probably can't do it if it doesn't appear in the bios.

i've got 100,133,166 and 200 options. i use the 166 div.(sorry i should have hi-lited the 150 div which is what i wanted)

266 x 5/6 gives me 221 which is stable limit. (of ram)

i wanted the 150 option in a64 tweaker as 270 x 10 with 150 div(0.75)x270 = 202.5 memory speed. could've lowered the latencies etc and got higher cpu speed. can only raise the cpu now by using 133 div giving lower memory speed :(

bugger did'nt realize i could'nt choose a divider in a64 tweaker :(

nevermind, at least i've got a stable clock. more bandwidth than standard and a cpu that cost £150 and is as quick as an AM2 5200 :)

*planning vdimm mod.........*

still at least o/c'ing on lower grade mobos is a challenge.
pah! you can keep yer all singing all dancing DFI's........... :D
