I have an A64 Venice 3000+ clocked @ 2.6Ghz, it is fitted with an XP-120 and 120mm 1500rpm fan. MB is Asus A8N-E

With case open and ambient temp @ 23C the CPU temp is 33C @ Idle.

My m8 has a 3500+ venice @ 2.6Ghz, with stock cooler on an A8V and case closed and ambient @ 21C his CPU temp is like 22C.

Why is mine so high? Is it my friends mobo reporting wrong temp? or is it mine reporting wrong temp? or something else?

just read a review here :-

http://www.hothardware.com/viewarticle.aspx?page=3&articleid=666

says venice sits @ 22C Idle... @ 2.582ghz

The trouble is with people reporting temps, nobody ever seems to give ambient temp of room their PC is in, which has a direct effect on cpu temp ;/ Or they forget to say its been overclocked, or that it has a special cooler, or fan, or core voltage ;) lot of variables, someone should make a Temp Reporting template ;)
