Hi all,

Ive purchaded a cheap 2nd rig(A7V8X-X 2700+)

I want to upgrade the bios but I do not have a floppy. Ive tried to use winflash but it does not look like its supported.

Is it possible to do it via cd or another method?

Thanks

Thanks very much for reply.

Ive done a big search on google but I am still really confused.

Can you give a more detailed explanation of what I need todo?

Would be very much appriciated.

Thanks

I think I now have the correct bios + app. I just need to know how to burn (settings) + what to type in DOS.

Thanks

I just created a boot cd with my bios + aflash.exe.

When I boot from cd and get to the commanded prompt I change the a: to d: and type aflash.exe but get the error 'insufficent memory'?

Any suggestions?

Thanks

Never heard of that, what version of dos gave you tried, try microsofts one.
Also i dont know about your mainboard but newer boards also have the option to flash in bios, you press alt-f2 (if i renember correctly) in the main boot screen and then it starts a flash utility searching floppy's and cd's for .rom files...

Thanks for reply,

When you say dos version - how can I find out?

I just copied this file:
http://www.bios-drivers.com/drivers/83/83837.htm

+ the latest bios onto cd.

Also, I did try the alt+f2 method but it only looks at the A: (floppy) drive :(

Thanks,

The prob making a bootable CD for doing this is we don't all use the same burning software.

Try this to make bootable CD :)

Thanks,

Just creadted a cd using that guide but now i am getting the error cannot find bios hook? I typed aflash.exe after booting from cd.

Any suggestions?

Thanks
