Does anyone know what the status of the A8-3800 or 3820 is?
Trying to hunt one down for a HTPC build but everything is pointing towards them both being discontinued, although i've yet to find anything solid that states this is the case.

If they have, does anyone know what AMD are planning to replace them with?

Cheers for any help :)

There is a seller on the..... which sells them, but they are sent from Spain(feedback looks OK IIRC).

However, with the 65W A10-5700 being released in the next few months,it looks a better choice IMHO.

Of course you could always get a standard AMD A8 and underclock it and undervolt it to lower power consumption.

Edit!!

Here is a test of an A10-5700 ES sample:

Note that only 1333MHZ DDR3 was used and the that the motherboard is also probably having an early BIOS version too.

I've literally just been reading about the new Piledriver's and the A10's, specs certainly look promising, well did until i read that sample review :p
Haven't thought about underclocking a A8-3850/3870, always assumed that power usage would still be a fair amount higher than the 3800/3820. But will certainly have a look into it as i can see it being a fair while before the A10's and decent motherboards arrive.

But cheers for reply, very useful :)
