Hi all

I just can't get the 333 mem divider to work properly on my Asus A8N-E board. As soon as the htt reaches the point where the ram is running beyond 200mhz it just won't boot.

I know the chip (X2 3800+) easily does 260htt when i use the 266 mem divider
I know the ram (2x512 geil value) does 230mhz when not using the 333 divider

I have tried the 1008, 1010, 1011 and 1013 bioses, but they all behave the same.

This board is an RMA replacement for one that failed. The 333 divider worked fine on that one - although I was using a 3000 venice with it instead of my current X2.

Fingers crossed someone can help me here before i lose clumps of hair!

I decided to investigate further and dropped the cpu multi to try and get a useful ram clock on the 266 divider which i thought was working however:

266 divider = crashes beyond 285htt (approx 180mhz ram)
333 divider = crashes beyond 240htt (appox 200mhz ram)

I then discovered a64 tweaker and clockgen. Using these I can set the divider to 333 in windows and htt to 260 giving me about 2.6ghz cpu and 216mhz ram ... and when i left it this morning it was priming away happily.

It seems therefore that the board is capable of using these dividers but there is something wrong with the bioses?

There must be loads of A8N owners out there - do any of you have similar problems with the memory dividers? Am i really the only one?
