It's ages since I've overclocked and I now have this mobo /CPU with 4 X 512 Corsair XMS 3200 and I've forgotten the basics.

Just to get be started what should I be aiming for in terms of a moderate overclock. HTT,FSB, Multiplier etc. Is the max on this board still 1000 ,ie HTT 4 X 250 like my old MSI Neo2 platinum ?
Am I right in thinking the rated speed on this CPU is 2200 Hz.

Ok initially I'll give it a go with my 4X512's. If as you say it's gonna be a problem, I might have to buy 2 X 1gig sticks. Can you recommend a replacement as past experience has shown that when I try and research for memory myself, I end up going round in circles for ever !!

Nope, not offering any thing. Just thinking what you would be able to get. I've only got a 1gig kit of PC4800 platinum RAM from OCZ. I'd suggest you look at a 2gig kit from G.Skill, such as the HZ stuff I use. Its pretty impressive. Maybe its some thing to think about...

Agent. :D

OK thanks very much !

Do you mean the 2gig kit as per MY-008-GS ?
RAM is a mystery to me. The pc4000 is a faster ram, yet it's cheaper than the pc3200

Agent, I think I'm gonna order some of that HZ PC4000 (£152.69). The reviews look pretty good, thanks !

Just been reading the Asus manual. Is the memory divider now called the max memclock. If so I presume 400 is 1:1 and 333 is a lesser percentage of FSB with 200 meaning the ram is half the speed of the fsb.

I have got 2 gig of G.skill HZ PC 4000 coming ,so I was going to aim for Agent wd40's timings. eg
1t
tcl 3
trcd 4
trp 4
trc 8

the others : trfc, twr, trwt is it best to leave in auto ?
