Hey all,

Does anyone else happen to use this motherboard ? I'm wondering if the pci clock is bugged, as whenever I overclock the system, my X-Fi XtremeMusic starts acting weird and I get stuttering, sounds cutting out & sound placement errors when in games using EAX or Miles. When everything is @ stock, the X-Fi is fine.

Specs :

Athlon64 3700 ( San Diego core rev DH-E6 )
A8N-SLI SE ( using the bios that came with the board, which is the latest )
1.5gb Kingmax PC3200 ( running in single channel - ram was good for 230fsb on my old NF7-S v2)
X-Fi XtremeMusic
Gainward 7900GS
Realtek 100mbit pci card

Overclocked settings :

HTT - 4x
FSB - 250
Cpu multi - 10
Ram divider - 166mhz
Ram timings - 7-3-3-2.5 ( also tried 7-3-3-3 & 8-4-4-3 )
Pci Clock Sync - 33.33mhz
PEG Link - Normal
PEG root control - disabled
PEG buffer length - auto

I know it's not a large overclock to lose over stock settings, but the extra fps it provides can make the difference in making some games just that bit more playable.

Any help would be appreciated.

I had the same problem when using a a8n sli deluxe. The pci clock wouldn't lock even

after setting it manually to 33.33mhz. I'm not sure if it'll work for you, but setting

the pci express clock from auto (100Mhz) to 101mhz fixed it for me.

It's also worth downloading Clockgen which will enable you to see (from within windows)

if the pci-e/pci bus speeds are locked at 100mhz/33.33mhz.

GL.
