Hi,

I have an Asus A8N-SLI with an athlon 4000. I want to play SC2 asap (life is just not worth living without) and have a future proof card as will upgrade the whole system in a couple of months. I like the look of the Radeon 5770. Question is will it work on such an old board? Power supply should be fine just bought a brand new 600W OCZ.
 
Should work no problem. I was using a 4670 on an A8N-SLI upto a few months ago. Just note that the CPU and RAM is going to bottleneck your card so you might be better off with a 4870 or 4890 for a bit less money.
 
I have an Asus AN8-SLI and just installed a GTX 460. It works just fine.

RAM/bus etc are bottlenecks, but my old card died and I plan to upgrade soon so might as well buy a good card now.

Trying to get my SC2 trial from gfx card offer, but I don't expect it not to run.
