Hi Guys,

Im hoping it's me being daft but this is really bugging me etc...
above mobo was flakier than a cadburys!

Its in a Antec SLK with a 350w psu A64 3200 512 Geil value and hitachi 160gb sata(ok in another system)
NEC dvd/rw and have tried different ram/cpu/psu.

Am i missing something you guys have seen with this board or am i one unlucky S.O.A.B

Edit/
Update & chooped the twaddle above :o
Shortly after this post it decided to have a cmos checksum error
so reflashed a few times and hey presto i have a boot screen, in the meantime however found a thread or two out in the wilds re the southbridge getting hot, it was about 55c! so dropped an old epox hs on it and its been in windows since, even able to run Prime95.

so i think i've now kinda answered my q's but hey it was worth a shot.

I'm using one of these in my new media centre rig, 1st one I got had a currupted bios:( just bad luck!
However my replacement has been rock solid:)

Sounds like you've covered most of the bases by trying different ram/cpu/psu. Have you tried clearing CMOS? What bios revision did you flash to 0506 or 0702? I'm running 0506 still.

Have you tried running memtest86 just to make sure your RAM is ok.

Hope this helps

Tumbler

Edit: doh...glad your finally got it stable(ish) ;) If I can help with anything drop me an email.... in trust :)

Thanks for the reply Tumbler,

Good to know they do work, when i 1st had problems i updated to 0702
but the bios checksum came up after every other cmos clear so went to the one on the cd (0506 i think)
Tried more ram from another system so i knew that wasnt the problem, however it did seem odd that popping a heatsink on the southbridge has allowed me to run windows/prime/ etc for about an hour in total now, gonna pop the heatsink off in a bit and see what happens.

Cheers for the offer, will let you know.
