Hi

Im a complete newbie to overclocking and trying to overclock my FX-57 CPU to at least 3000Mhz.

At the moment I have managed to get to 2963Mhz with a stable system by upping the Hyper Thread Transport from 200Mhz to 212Mhz and upping the voltage to 1.55V.

I am using a ThermalTake Tornado Air CPU cooler and my case has a rear exhaust fan.

I have not even started to attempt to overclock my DDR500 Ballistix memory yet.

Is there a better way of overclocking this CPU using this motherboard?

Thanks

Nad

Instead of upping the HTT you can just up the multiplier as your CPU is unlocked. Ofcourse HTT gives you access to smaller incremental steps.

Thanks UKDave

I returned the HTT back to 200 and upped the multiplier to x15, the CPU is now stable at 3009Mhz!

Im running 1.525V at the moment, should I keep decreasing to see how low it can go before the system becomes unstable?

Thanks

Nad

It is, but its with the FX you can up the multi to find the max CPU speed without messing with HTT or RAM speed. Then once you've done that you can optimise a good multi/htt ratio.
