Hi, I am new to oberclocking AMD proc`s. This is my first AMD and the bios has lots more settings than my former Intel based mobo (p4p800-e)

I understand the theory, I understand the process for the most part, what I dont know is what all those settings control.

I know how to lower the cpu mult to find best fsB, (CURRENTLY SET TO 10X) I know how to raise the fsb clock (Currently 225)

I set the ram to lock at 200, right? it is currently set to lock..

I see folks getting well above the 225 mark, what am I missing?

My specs,

AMD 64 X2 4800
CORSAIR XMS DDR 400 PC 3500 (2 GIG ) (2 STICKS)
A8R32-MVP
100GIG SATA MAXTOR HDD

I would love if one of you with this board would walk me through setting by setting to find my max stable oc..I again would be happy to pay for your help.

Thanks

id be interested to see what settings people are using on this mobo too.. i got an opty 170 an gskill hz 2gb.. was going to use the ai overclock in the bios but i hear its crap.

ive not done any ocing for a long long time :o

By setting the RAM to 200MHz, you've actually set it to 1:1 with the FSB (meaning the RAM is now running at 225MHz), if you change it to 166MHz, you'll be on a 166/200 (0.83) divider. Try that and see how much further you get.

think u need to manualy set fsb... change ai overclock to manual then u can set fsb freq. when u choose the mem frequency i think it is locked at whatever you choose..

i tried that auto overclock thing but it wouldnt let me go past a 10% oc

been reading guides all day.. this is harder than i remember :)

ive got the non 32x board you need the set your divider(lock) to 166 also set your htt at 800, that will give ya the abitily to go up to 234 after that u will need to change it to 133 if ya want to go further and if ya go past 250 put you htt to 600, also ya may need to up ya voltage soon on ya cpu, i was messing earlier with mine for fun, i can get my fsb up to 330 on super tight timings
