hey my new computer just turned off all of a sudden and wont turn on :mad: any ideas why and what to do now? i bought all the components here and only less than a month ago, the motherboard power light is on and everything is plugged in correctly, it has been working for about a week and when i opened it up immediately after there were no parts of it too hot to touch so i dont think it was overheating, please help me!

Just because the motherboard light is on, doesn't mean you havn't blown up the battery....

Same thing happened to me, First thing i'd do would be to try another PSU

so the mobo light is on, when you turn it on does absolutely nothing happen? or do fans spin but it doesnt do anything?

the psu is making a funny noise i just noticed......does this mean i'll have to get a replacement?

what noise? and yea it looks that way.

dont try to open the PSU though

Stop trying to turn it on matey ... If its not working, its not working! You'll do more harm than good

Grab yourself a new PSU sharpish

ive already sent a webnote and its n "Akasa Ultra quiet 80+" i wanted the "OCZ ModXStream Pro 600w Silent SLI Ready ATX2 Modular Power Supply" but it was out of stock! if only id got one of them...... :(

Well just because mine decided to kick the bucket doesn't mean they are all bad, no psu is indestructable.

I purchased a Corsair TX650w and so far so good.

When ever i buy another psu mind, it will be from a UK manufacturer, it's ok buying well know branded components but if it costs you an arm and a leg to return a faulty unit under warranty.

In this case a psu that cost you £65.00 6 months ago has now worked out costing £85.00 .

do you think ocuk would mind if i phoned after sending a webnote? they havnt even said theyve recieved it yet and id like to have the new power supply by tomorow if possible....

well they've sent me the info to return the psu and thats what im going to do... i just hope that is the problem and the only one! thanks all!
