A week or so ago i had troubles getting my new media centre up and running, came on here and posted and soon had an answer for why i couldn't get it to boot or post. We managed to solve the problem and i had the machine running sweetly for 2 days.

However went to turn the machine on yesterday to be greeted with the post screen then nothing, screen just went blank. I've spent a few hours trying to solve what the issue is.

I've reseated the CPU, checked all cables (i think) but now it doesn't even post, won't beep or anything, cpu fan just stays at full speed.

Please help, i'm tearing out what little hair i have left!

Thanks.

Maybe something is shorting the motherboard? I'd order a dirt cheap new mobo for a day or two (that you can send back when finished) and set it up to confirm whether the mobo is your problem.

Had a similar situtation with an nforce 4 and a maxtor, was a recognised problem with the drive firmware.

I didnt see this until I read about it in a forum.

I recommend you reset the cmos and disconnect everything except forom the GFX and try a restart.

Then connect one thing at a time. A pain in the backside.
