AAC (iTunes downloads) to MP3

Don't buy from iTunes? :p.

How easy it is depends on whether they're the iTunes plus ones (unprotected, DRM-free).

lots of media players play unprotected AAC files nowadays. you're better off playing them natively rather than converting to another lossy format.

of course if you have a portable player that doesn't support aac, then you have no choice but to convert them. foobar2000 can do this although you'll also need to download the lame encoder to go with it.
