Aarma, worth playing now?

Yes it is - I've dumped Project Reality in favour of it.

Awesome fun now it works properly, and Co-op play is a nice change. Lots of client side mods as well available which can change the gameplay to your choices. :)

Still needs a fairly hefty machine to run it with everything turned off, and it can still be a bit tricky around certain objects, it's easy to get caught out by the trees etc.

Can anyone recommend any decent servers that are not running some stupid RPG mod? Just decent vanilla ARMA :)

I played ArmA a lot until February or so. It's great online - there are very few people who try to ruin the experience and working together on coop missions is fun. However, I became tired of the poor performance and lag that was affecting my favourite server, and am playing Trackmania United again now.

Ive had ARMA for about 5-6 months. Played it once or twice in that five months, then a few days ago i spotted new patches for it and it was on the shelf so i decided to try it out with the new 1.12 patch last night.

Was on tactics and teamwork server, had a blast. The voip is amazing, made the game for me. In comparison to project reality, the stability and community of pr is better but the actual gameplay of ARMA is amazing. However i thought it was a little laggy, the ai on coop was a little jumpy when trying to fire at them.

But i will definatly be getting into arma, the game has so much potential imo. If you like teamwork and realistic gameplay, find a good server and your away.
