You may have a hardware problem, if you list your specs that would help.

Couple of things you could try, run diagnostics tools for your hard drive to ensure thats ok - you should be able to get this from the manufacturers website.
Run mem test to check your memory, also have setup correct timmings and voltages for your memory!

hi RJC
specs are
- Intel Core 2 Quad Q6600 GO 2.40GHz Quad Core CPU. (8/9 x 400MHz
- 1600MHz FSB)

- Arctic Cooling Freezer 7 Pro Blue LED Intel approved cooler

- Abit IX38-QuadGT Intel X38 (Socket LGA775) PCI-Express DDR2 Motherboard
- Corsair 2GB DDR2 XMS2 Dominator PC2-8500C5 TwinX (
- Western Digital VelociRaptor 300GB 10000RPM SATA-II 16MB Cache
- ATI Radeon HD 4870 512MB GDDR5 HDTV/Dual DVI (PCI-Express) DirectX 10
- Pioneer 215DBK 20x DVD±RW Dual Layer ReWriter (Black)

- Corsair TX 750W Next Generation Power Supply

tried finding regcure equivalent for 64bit to solve setup.exe but no luck at present

You might have an unstable overclock which coursed corruption, try running at stock and try repair or fresh install windows - a BIOS reset might help.

Sorry can't give anything conclusive.

Sounds like whoever overclocked your computer did a **** job of it TBH.

I'd blame the crap shop (or yourself if you OCed it), not Windows or PC hardware.

Problems during Windows installation is often an indication of a RAM problem, so get memtest on the case to have it checked for at least couple of hours to give you an idea (chances are a problem will show in that time) and ideally more to rule out the RAM.
