I am looking to create a raid array with this board. Yet can see no way of doing it (and the manual is not much cop at pointing it out either).

Want to use the Intel ICH chip if possible.

Any tips on what I am missing here?

exact same problem!!

I have exactly the same problem! If you manage to resolve this in the next 24 hours would you mind emailing me on [email protected]. I will do the same for you if you give me your address. Just to expand on my problem a bit (I'm betting you have the same issues):

Just bought all my new computer kit. ABIT ab9 MB,conroe and twin 150gb SATAS, but I can't work out how to get them in a RAID config. Ive set the normal bios to RAID. I have a RAID floppy disk which I assume has drivers on, seeing as it doesn't autoboot. I can start a Vista installation at which point it can see my two unformatted drives, but thats all, i can even browse the floppy and find ICH8R drivers at this point, but after it's loaded them Im back to having two unconfigured drives show up - I have the option to format and partition them, but no mention of putting them in an array. Where on earth do I pair them? I've seen mention of a RAID BIOS online, but neither CTRL i or CTRL g on POST seems to do anything at all. Please help someone before i go mad!!!

Cheers,

Steve

Vista has built in Raid drivers,no need to load them from the floppy drive.Have you set your cd/dvd drive as your 1st boot option

yes, my dvd is first boot. I can actually boot into the vista install until it asks me where to install, giving me the choice of the two drives. I clearly need to configure them in a RAID POST, which I am completely unable to find :-O

Progress - OC support has no idea how to fix it, in fact they were 'unaware of any raid issues' (dont they read this board?!), so dont bother calling them. If you do a search on this forum for ab9 raid many people have encountered this problem. It seems to be fixed by flashing the bios. I will proceed with this shortly if I can find no other solution...

since deleted my last post - just noticed you have an AB9 pro - my matrix problem stems from the fact i have been searching for a feature on my board (an AB9 vanilla, which actually has no Intel RAID) which doesn't exist, thanks to buying it because this feature is listed on the Overclockers product feature list and the reason I bought it in the first place (says AB9 has ICH8R southbridge when in fact it has ICH8)!
