Got in today from Uni and the weather was great outisde so thought I'd take my digi cam out and take some photos of this unfinished housing estate.

The housing estate is quite big, the first pictures is the front and they are finished but as my pictures progress you will see the rest of the estate.

The front of the estate, this set is finished. Bad lighting as the sun isn't behind me (i think? :p)

A near 10 year old sign showing the previous owners of this land, before this skip service the area was a Car sales shop (15 years ago)

Looking down the unfinished road onto the discontinued houses with a the previous set mentioned just finished on the left.

Down the road a little and this is the rear of the first set seen in my first picture.

Stood at the fenced off area, look at the window slots without windows. Been like this for months.

At this point i was going to hop the fence and get a closer look of some of the graffiti round the back and get inside some of these flats/houses for some better detail. Sadly...

A yellow coat appears :(

I went round another street that overlooks this area and got a few shots of the back.

I'm no photographer but i used to love it and had the nickname Photoboy in highschool so I'm trying to get back into it. Thanks for reading :)

Amazing state of affairs it being cheaper to abandon development rather than finish and sell, especially at the stage they were at. Mind boggiling.

It won't be 'Abandoned' it'll be 'On Hold'... Hence the 'Yellow Coat' that wandered into a few shots!...

I'm in the Construction bis.. and we've got a number of sites like this... and a few that are just starting up again after a couple of months of being 'On Hold'...

Great shots though!... a couple could have been sharper, but with the distance and lighting you didn't do a bad job!! :)

Abandoned is a catchier title than On Hold :D

I understand though, they will be back working on them soon, the yellow coat had a checklist with him.

On the sharpish.. yea :( Need a tripod really to steady the shots. Thanks ;)

not entirely abandoned since theres vertical blinds and a sky dish on photo 4 :p

Sadly that scheme could be anytown anywhere. Mass produced pap although there are some nice detailing features. On the whole though not 'good architecture'

Comments as before though, a couple of shots could have been sharper but a good record of 'the credit crunch'

I was expecting a previously occupied, run down, edgy estate, ghost town qualities etc :(

Plenty of that round here mate. A whole paper mill the size of 2-3 football fields was levelled for a new school but has never been built. It's eery, theres one building stood in the middle of it all and thats a pub.

Going to take some more in a few days.
