Hi

cleaned my pc today as it was very dusty - did not disconnect anything just a quick blow with one of those air canisters - when I came to power it back on as soon as I turn the psu on the mobo just keeps constantly beeping with what looks like c r in the mobo information panel (its an abit 35 pro) this is before even trying to get the machine to post - have checked the mother board connections - cleared the cmos - swapped the battery - fast running out of ideas

check fan speeds and part temperatures in bios. i got this a few times on my AB9 pro when i completely turned it off, it went to default settings.

Hi

sorry i must have mis read that part. (its sunday lol)

well if it worked before you cleaned it out something might have gone undone?! why not unplug all bits and re plug them back in.

unplug all plugs including sata, IDE etc and put it all back in
and take out ram too and put it back in.

Hi

this is before even trying to post - so is a memory check being done ? It happens as soon as i flick the switch on the psu - so before I actually press the power button on the pc .

i have unplugged all drives - re seated the cpu cooler - cleared the cmos - down to just 1 stick of ram and the gfx card connected - but as I say this is before the pc is actually powered on.

If it is buggered what would be a reasonable replacement (have a q6600 cpu)

cheers alco

OK - time to blush - I mentioned I was cleaning it.... I also cleaned the outside - tucked away below the PS2 connector is an external cmos jumper (Abits ezCMOS - so you can clear the cmos without opening the case etc) which I must have caught with the duster and left the cmos in shorting mode.

Thanks for the help guys
