abit ab9 pro bios problem?

Hi ,

I bought a BIOS chip from a uk bios repair website a while ago and have only just installed it into my old motherboard (Abit AB9 Pro) and it seems im having the same problem as before...

The numbers on the motherboard stick at 9.0 and it doesn't reach the post screen, the problem occurred when i tried to flash my bios from desktop which crashed which lead to me stupidly restarting my PC.

Fans go, it sounds like its working... but no post screen or anything.

any help is much appreciated


system specs:

c2d 6400 (stock cooler)
abit ab9 pro
1gb ddr2 800mhz
7900gs
OcUK Huntkey 450W PSU (new)

9.0. is usually BIOS or power related (incl. shorts).
I know that you say the PSU is new but Huntkey don't have a good rep ...

Anywaqy, have you tried it out of the case to rule out shorts?
