Abit AI7 with SATA-II compatibility question

I have an Abit AI7 with 2 IDE hard disks installed but would like to move to a single SATA-II drive (upgrading gradually). The manual says it supports SATA 130, however to be future proof the drives I've been looking at are all SATA-II, SATA 150.

Being new to all this SATA business I'm unsure as to what it all means :o

would something like a Seagate Barracuda 7200.10 500GB ST3500630AS SATA-II 16MB Cache or Samsung SpinPoint T HD501LJ 500GB SATA-II 16MB Cache - OEM be compatible with the Abit AI7?

do SATA-II drives have jumper settings? is it a case of 1 port to drive or can they be plugged in series (like IDE, master/slave)?

Thanks :)

All SATAII drives are backwards compatable with SATAI ports. You may need to set the jumpers for SATAI mode. Tho sometimes they come pre-set to SATAI.

And they have a single port each. No master or slave to worry about.
