I have an AN52V by Abit with an X2 5000 processor. I run 2x2gig sticks of low profile Kingston Value ram in it and can't get it to run in dual channel mode. If I upgrade the bios from the very first to any other it provents overclocking of my cpu, currently I can run my cpu at 3gig, any other bios and overclocking fails - even with added voltage (which I don't need on first edition bios).
I have tried other bios's and it still fails in dual channel mode, have tried all slots and voltage options but it fails to boot when configured for duel channel. Am I missing much performance wise? by not running in dual channel? Also the X2 5000 seems a lot slower than my previous core 2 system at the same speed! why is that?
Suggestions welcomed.
