Abit av8 memory issue

Just reccieved the ABIT av8 tonight. Got two sticks of memory, 1 x 512 geil and 1 x 1gb corsair.

Now if I put either stick in it displays as ddr400 in the bios. Stick them both in and they display as 200ddr and the sisoft sandra benchmarks on memory half. Tried all variations of memory in different slots etc...

any ideas?

The AV8 is notoriously picky on RAM & PSU but that combo wouldn't be ideal in any rig as they are too mismatched.
It sounds like the CPU (for the memory controller is in the CPU) is defaulting to a lower speed & single channel to run - you could always try setting speeds/timings manually.

I had the AV8 before my DFI expert.

It is really very picky with RAM. What bios you using?
