Abit AV8 OK ????

Ok,i have just bought an Abit av8 mobo to start upgrading to amd64 and would just like to know if these boards are stable.I am currently running an nf-7s and barton 2500 and its been rock solid,so decided to stay with Abit and get something like a 3500 Venice core to go with it.

I've got the KN8 Ultra and while not the same I've had several abit boards now and all have been rock solid so far. You should be good with the board

Yeah I upgraded to the AV8 about a year ago. Its a great board (ive had no trouble with it). Although I do plan a PCI upgrade later in the year.

Had an av8 with an a64 3200+ venice overclocked to 2.5ghz excellent board no pci express though only reason i sold it

I don't want to go to pci-e yet as my graphics card is less than a year old.
Been reading a few threads about cpus and not sure which to go for, a 3200 venice or save a little longer and get a 3700 sd.

Have you considered the Asrock Dual Sata?

Will take your AGP card and has a PCIe port ready for when you want to upgrade.

Great little mobo.

Yeah i considered it but the abit came up at the right price so i took the plunge.
