Is this board any good as I've recently aquired one and not sure as to whether to keep it or sell it. I understand it's not conroe compatiblke :( so tempted to sell it on, get a conroe board and a cheap 2nd hand Skt 775 P4 to tie me over etc.

The replacement board I'm thinking of is Gigabyte GA_965P_DS4

it's supposed to be an excellent mobo apart from not supporting Core 2 DUO - lot's of 4.0GHz 805s...

Tempted to try and pick up a 2nd hand P4 and just live with what I've aiming for.

I mainly do Internet / mail, office 2003 stuff. Soon to play with Photoshop CS more.

Most important thing is Virtual server/PC etc.

Also I am right in thinking that this board isn't going to be conroe compatible? Even with a future BIOS update

Not just a case of a BIOS update it's VRM hardware too.
AW9D will be the Core 2 975X board.

Oh well, think i'll sell it and sit on the fence for a while. Just use my company laptop...

Do I sell this board or do I build a P4 system from 2nd hand parts etc..

I don't know what I want these days :(

You can now get an 805 Dual-core for £70 and that board will clock it up to the mid-3.x GHz. Now, OK - it's not going to be a Conroe beater, but it's perfectly adequate and loads of fun getting that last 100MHz out of it!
