ABIT AW9D-Max "CPU is unworkable or has been changed" error?

Hi guys,

Just got this board from a site and a nice E6600 to go with it. Upon booting up the board i get the "CPU is unworkable or has been changed - Please check uguru utility"... Eh, whats that about??? I can press F1 though and still go into windows so i don't get it, is my CPU naffed at not even the first hurdle? Any ideas? i've seen mentions on the web about clearing the CMOS... Done and no luck so anything else? Or is it dear old RMA time

Why not try checking the uguru utility like it says?

Does that tell you anything about the problem?

that's perfectly normal on an abit with a new CPU or after clearing CMOS.
Just go into the BIOS, set defaults save & exit - next boot it should be gone.
