Abit IB9 and DSL issue

Hi,

I have the above board and since I've built this PC I've had my PCI DSL modem keep disconnecting intermittently.

I bought the Abit IB9, an E2140 and new GPU. I also have new DDR2 of course. I've swapped DDR2 sticks.

The system is stable hardware wise but it seems strange that I've only had these DSL issues since the new system being built.

I've reinstalled the drivers, reinstalled WinXP from scratch and even tried a different PCI DSL modem.

BT say there is no problem with my line so perhaps I should log a problem with Overclockers and get the board shipped back to them. Can't see it could be anything else.

It could be caused by a setting somewhere for your modem. I know certain devices have a power save setting. I doubt that the motherboard is causing the issue as it doesn't seem hardware related.

You said it intermittantly disconnects, how often does it happen? Is every few seconds, minutes or hours?

Unfortunately it's really random. Sometimes I can go an hour with no disconnect, other times maybe 3 in 15 minutes!

I've checked all power save settings and ensured the device is setup as before the upgrade.
