Abit IB9 + Corsair TwinX XMS2 DDR2 PC5400 compatible?

Not a clue about the 8600 :(

For £20 more I would go for the Abit IP35-E for the chipset, it will overclock quite a lot better because of the 1333FSB on the mobo and will support thew new Intel processors if you decide to upgrade. If you can afford to push up a tiny bit more I would go for the P35 DS3R.

Ramwise.. Ballistix PC5300 and no question about it. It clocks to 1000MHz+ with ease and would be superb with a oc'd E4300. :)

You building a whole new pc or upgrading? If your currently making a spec I would HIGHLY recommend you post a spec thread here, you will get whopper from one of the guys here :)

What do you think? BTW will the mb come with SATA cables or will I have to buy them?

Yeah the motherboard will come with SATA cables.

This is what I would spec you, slightly over budget

I wouldn't trust a cheap PSU with ANYTHING, especially an overclocked system! Changed the motherboard and RAM, expect massive overclocks, 3GHz should be hit easily with that CPU and 1000MHz easily with that RAM. The motherboard won't even flinch at those OC's and the case is good. I would highly recommend a aftermarket cooler for those overclocks. I've found the Artic cooling 7's are fine with the 4300's in my past experience.

Sorry for over budgetness. You can bump the mobo down to the one I mentioned before but I would definitely not get a cheap powersupply.

Sorry if im rambling, its 2:30 AM :D

Thanks for that spec. I didn't notice the psu was a cheap brand I misread Silverpower for Silverstone LOL! I think i'll switch the akasa zen/silver power for the antec you recommended then. But this is a tight build for exactly £400. So I'll have stick with the original spec. If it gets a small OC i'll be happy and at a later date i'll shove a noctua cpu cooler in.

Incidently Jaffa you know how many SATA cables the mb will come with?

PS you'r not rambling mate. You probably saved me a lot of hassle pointing out the PSU was a cheap brand :-)

Ok, not giving up, respecced.

I really would recommend HIGHLY going for that over your original spec, you can get 3GHz from the CPU and 1000MHz from the RAM which will see a fairly major performance increase.

well i've just sorted some extra money out for the build. will go for that spec plus a noctua cpu cooler. one quick question will the noctua fit in the case ok?

many thanks.
