Hey.

The fan on my abit IC7-G's northbridge cooler has packed up and i was wondering what would be a good replacement?

I did a search and found some responses saying the thermalright NB-1, but i cant see one of those available anywhere in the uk.

Any advice?

Thanks.

Dont bother replacing it, just remove the fan (to allow better passive air flow), board will run passive with FSB at 250, possibly higher without any problem whatsoever.

My Max3's fan failed at least a year ago, possibly longer. As long as you have the 'big orb' cooler, its about 1.5-2 inches tall, then its plenty big enough to run passive. Its at least as big as the passive heatsink on Asus 875 chipset boards.

I just used some arctic silver thermal epoxy and slapped a Zalman ZM-NB47J onto the northbridge. Somehow one of the small hooks had fallen out of the mobo and the stock fan/cooler was just hanging there.
