Abit IN9 32X MAX - Beeping problem.

Hi all.

I built my systems last night (see sig for spec), and everything went really well. Everything worked first time and I managed to install Windows before going to bed.

Now, this morning I get up and decide to have a look at some BIOS settings (with a mind to overclocking the CPU - currently running everything at stock). But when I powered the PC up, I immediately got beeping from the motherboard! It's a 2-tone beep that starts as soon as I hit the power button.

I checked all the fans to make sure they were running - all fine. Checked the POST code on the mobo - also fine (7F). But I could not get the beeping to stop. I checked all the temps in the BIOS - all really low. I just couldn't see what was causing the problem (and the motherboard wasn't telling me much).

Does anyone know what this beeping means? and more importantly, how I can stop it? The beeping is coming from the PC speaker in the case.

hi, have you checked your voltages in bios

Yes, I did look at the voltages, but not really sure what I was looking for to be honest - everything seemed to be fine.

Should I be looking for errors on the voltage screen? Or maybe something else?

I've now remembered that I forgot to set my memory voltage correctly. It's still running at the motherboard default.

Will try changing this when I get home.

the high low usually means that a temp, voltage or fan rpm is outside of the set warning parameters,

Beeping fixed

It was a warning for the NB voltage. The voltage was set at 1.45V and the max voltage in uGuru settings is 1.45V before alarm is sounded. So I just disabled that particular alarm, and the beeping stopped (even though I could still hear it 5 minutes later

).

couldn't you adjust the warning level up?

I did try, but I couldn't see a way to adjust the min or max settings! So I just disabled the beep.

I might have another look later, but I guess the voltages don't change very much (unlike temperatures).

It's very strange if you can't change the max value, as the BIOS allows you set the voltage on the NB to 1.55V.
