Hi all,

I have a new Abit IN9 32x Max mobo with 4Gb Corsair Dominator, a Corsair 620 PSU and an 8800 Ultra. On first boot i got into the bios and set the date etc. On re-boot it just shows 8E on the post display. This means check the cpu fan speed, but seeing as i am using water cooling i have no cpu fan. I have tried re-setting the cmos, removing the battery etc and it keep showing this code. Anyone know what i can do?

Don't have that board, but surely somewhere in the BIOS is an option to disable the warning or monitoring of the cpu fan header in question?
RTFM :D

indeed it will but he'll need an rpm signalling fan on the CPUFan header in order to get in & disable it. Thereafter it can be removed.

Probably not as he already stated he can ge into the BIOS, i'm assuming in a just cleared state, so clear the BIOS, enter it and do the setting.

I got into the bios the first time but after that just got that error. So to work around it i put a small fan on the northbridge and plugged it into the cpu fan header and it now works. Just annoying as i am using watercooling and had no fan on the cpu.

Prolly need to clear the BIOS to get into it without a fan connected.

Uncheck cpu fan from being monitored.

probably a good idea anyway if you will be overclocking as the nVidia nb gets v. hot.

Another quick question, i have 4 x 1gb sticks of Corsair Dominator 8500 1066mhz but on post it says the ram is at 533mhz, anyone know why this may be happening or how to change it?

Is it 533MHz real Mhz or DDR MHz? (266MHz). If its real Mhz then If it says 533mhz then it is running 1066. DDR=Double Data Rate, so 533 x 2=1066. If its DDR533 then its 533/2 = 266Mhz. Check Cpuz and see what it says for the real memory speed. If it says 266MHz then its DDR533 if it says 533Mhz then you're ok.
