Hi guys, i have just bought and assembled my new pc. Everything has gone smooth except my computer double boots.

here is what is in the pc.

Abit ip35
Intel Core 2 Quad q6600 (2.4ghz)
Crucial Ballistix 2x2Gb ddr2 800mhz ram
Asus EAH3450 Graphics card
Corsair HX520 PSU

The problem I have is when i press the start/reboot button on the case the machine starts and then shutsdown before any screen shows up on the monitor and then it starts again no problems. I have had a look onlnine a bit and some have said it is a psu issue, some a bios update is required some have said to check wake up settings in the current bios.

Anybody have any clues what is causing it and how i can i fix it.

Cheers

Dave

I get this issue but have read about it and it's not a problem so I have just put up with it.

Only started happening after I overclocked the rig.

If its the Off Limits and not the Pro, it's kind of like a feature!
They always do it, there may be a fix, I'm not sure but most people just live with it, or buy the Pro version which is better.

Seen this happen once or twice when pushing my E2180 to 3.5Ghz and overclocking my RAM but it's been perfect since I bought mine.

I hope the new BIOS sorted your problem.

in the latest bios, v17, the problem only occurs when you have either

a) turned the system power off at the wall
b) changed overclock settings.

what damage could it do to an hd???

did the bios update fix the double boot? its not really a problem for me but i might aswell fix it.
