Just changed my external hdd cable from usb to e-sata, but the board isnt detecting the external hdd in bootup. it does however show my ide cd drive at the J micron post page

The drive worked fine when connected via usb. I thought it would just be a case of shutting down and changing the cable.

Anyone have any ideas?

Thanks.

Have you checked in the BIOS, sure I remember seeing something in there. Can't check now as am work but will have a look when home tonight.

Had a look in the BIOS, couldn't see anything, unless you've noticed something I've missed :o

I thought you need to set the motherboard to use a SATA mode of ACPI or something like that. Can't remember. Also, I think there is seperate drivers for SATA RAID (JMicron I think), and the Intel drivers for the eternal SATA.

This is from memory over at the aBit forums so sorry if it's a bit wrong. Might be a starting point though. Good luck.

All sorted now :D

Had to trim about 1mm off the shoulder of the eSATA connection cable so that it would fit deeper into the ex-hdd
