Hi guys

Just built my new PC using the Abit IP35 PRO board.

I have 2 samsung F1 320's that I want to raid 0, but there is no floppy disk with the raid drivers on them!? I thought it could not load them from a CD?

How do I do this when trying to install windows xp pro?

Many Thanks !!!!

**** This one is sorted - please see below for another problem - THanks :)

Hi guys ok thanks for your help on that one.

I eventualy got it working. I had to boot into BartPE burn the drivers onto a USB beforehand then transfer them onto the floppy drive which was a real pain as my cabling is so bulky.

Anyway now I have another critical problem.

Whenever I change the Sata Mode in the BIOS to RAID from IDE it shows the raid array at the start which I have created.

Yet when I try and boot from the Windows XP PRO disk it comes up with "DISK BOOT FAILURE, INSERT SYSTEM DISKA ND PRESS ENTER".

I have tried an IDE DVDROM and the same error occurs.

Any ideas guys as this is really frustrating that it's still not working after so long....

Thanks !

I have done that..

I have tried all combinations.

It seems I might be suffering with an incompatibility

In this thread it shows many people are having problems with the latest Samsung F1's and running 6 Sata devices which is the same in my Case.

I have 2 Samsung F1 320's and 2 Samsung F1 1TBs.

There does not appear to be a clear fix, I'm not so sure a BIOS Flash will do this.??

This is the last time I choose Abit, the sheer grief it's causing me is aging me :(

It is set to Raid Mode currently.

I have entered the Raid Facility (ctrl-i) and created the Raid 0 array with 2 of the Samsung 320's.

Now whenever I try and boot when the sata mode is set to RAID is comes up with System Boot Error - this is the same with my IDE DVDROM.

So when I try when it's set to SATA mode it simply does not detect the array and there's no locations to install windows on...

The floppy drivers are no longer a problem I just need to get the array working..

Hi Randal.

Well I seem to have got over the system boot error by unplugging ALL other SATA devices except my 2 320's that I am trying to Raid 0 and the IDE DVDROM. It seems to SATA DVD would not boot when Sata mode was set to raid.

Yes I am trying the Micron Raid drivers which specfiy they are for XP and yes my floppy has all the correct drivers on it. I specify to use them in the installation.

If you go to Integrated Perripherals > OnChip Sata Device > *here you have 3 options - IDE, RAID AND AHCI)*

Any of them and it does not detect the RAID Array when actually looking for a location to install Windows in.

I am assuming I need to be on the RAID setting for it to pick it up but it does not...

How do you find your current BIOS version on this board?

Thanks !

I have now tried all the drivers with the Floppy32 section of the CD including the Windows2000 ones to no avail. :(

The only Intel Drivers on the disk for SATA Raid are only for Vista32 and Vista64, there's no mention of Windows XP PRO 32?

I think I have the right link from the Intel site which I am trying now.

I'll let you know

Thanks so much Randal !
