Ok i got my friends pc and a fresh copy of xp pro the build is 2002 and for some reason it hangs/locks up when installing at the black screen with xp sign with the blue thing moving across that box.Now if i am right in thinking if this was a sata driver issue then the drive would not of been seen. But it copys all the files to the drive fine also its a IDE and not ata/sata drive. For the life of me i cant work it out a dodgy copy installs just fine of cause its a newer build.Installed the lastest sata/ata drivers after a few times to (abitsata_v133).Even took the drive out of that pc and put it into another and the fresh copy (legal) of xp installed fine so must be drivers(i think).Wont let me update from home what more is left HELP.

its not clocked its at stock even loaded default just in case. The thing is as i said loads up a downloaded copy np.Try this older build REAL copy and locks up.strange i tell ya,as far as i know ide on a mobo like this there are no need for drivers.I cant even update with this real copy from home.I just dont understand why like i said if finds the drive and loads the files for the install
just after the rebooting in 15 sec's then it boots going to run setup and locks up on the black screen with xp sign just before it runs.If it was memory would it not just do the same with the dodgy copy of xp i loaded up fine? pro corp and home just wont let me update or downgrade in the case of corp to my legal real copy.

PC is my friends and is a p4 in that is7.
