Hi

Got a new IX38 QUAD delivered this afternoon from OC, Already had 4 sticks of Team Xtreem 1066 so thought i would use those.

Anyway when i put in the four sticks (regardless of slot) it boots to a prompt with a boot block error. If i remove 1 of the sticks (regardless of which one) the machine boots up.

I'm on Bios rev 12, just aboyt to update that.

Any ideas?... took ages to work out :D

thanks mate, trouble is i can set the voltages etc. and then turn off the PC, gently place the RAM into the socket and reboot. But once i have done that it does not allow me to even enter the bios.

But i will try it though :)

Well tried that and many other things besides.

I had better get my wallet out and purchase 2 x 2Gb sticks instead i guess. Just guess its one of those weird incapabilities!!!

RAM is so cheap, just cant resist :D

I am running the Abit Quad Gt X38 same board ?
Anyway I am running 4 x 1 Gb sticks of Ballistix no problems.
RAM Voltage set to around 2.1 v
I think that is right, somone correct if not...its been a while since I went into my bios....3.2 GHz 24/7 Stable is plenty for me :)
Have you done mem test on each stick for at least 8 hours with no errors?

It could be that one of your sticks is a duffer?
Even if it did work in your other board hours ealier.

Funnily enough i updated the BIOS to 14 and it works fine now.

Been running Orthos and Prime with no issues....

Now the overclocking begins :p

You pleased with it?
