Hi all,

I'm building a PC for my Brother-in-law, and I'm having issues with memory timings.

The system is an Abit NF-M2S skt AM2 with an X2 3600+, with a 1gb (2x512) kit of Corsair XMS DDR 667. The Corsair memory should run at 4,4,4,12 @ DDR667, but for some reason it is reported in CPU-Z at 5,5,5,15 at 2T.

I can't find anything in the BIOS but the most rudimentary of settings, with no apparent way of changing the memory timings etc. It works fine as is, but it would obviously better if it ran at the correct settings.

Any help gratefully received.

Cheers

you will probably find that the RAM has it's SPD programmed as 5-5-5-15 (it's normal for SPD to be looser than the mfrs advertise the RAM as supporting) & the board is setting the RAM by SPD.

I know that the nView has a very adjustable BIOS but I'm not sure that the M2S does as it's a more basic board.
