Hi,
I've the above mobo and I am having trouble booting up. I believe this is a the RAID/ACHP issue. I want my PC to be in a RAID1 configuration (mirrored) for data security. However, to get the option for that in the BIOS, I need to select either SATA or ACHP to be able to get into the SATA setup screen. However, if I use this option I find it very difficult - it will take a number of attempts - to boot. I get POST code 9.9. which I beleive indicates that the uguru chip has initiallised and is waiting for hte BIOS to take over. However it just hangs there, no beeps or anything. I tried a reinstall of vista last night and set SATA in the BIOS and set the discs to be a mirrored RAID and tried to install the RAID drivers at the appropriate point. - This resulted in BSOD.

Is it time for RMA?

Thanks!

9.9. means that the board has completed it's shutdown procedure.

As Cob asked, what BIOS version are you runnning as several are known to have non-functional AHCI/RAID?

Latest I believe - er, exact BIOS id is 12.

Also, running VISTA Ultimate
Q6600
2g Corsair DDR2
480w Tagan PSU
HIS Radeon 3850 Pro
LG PATA DVDRW

Oh, sorry perhaps I mean 9.0. -I'm away from home this weekend and as a result not actually at that PC

That's quite an old BIOS.

14 and 16 are known to have ACHI/RAID issues, so try BIOS 15. I've had no issues with 15 in my QuadGT machine.

Really? That's The latest from the abit website. OR so I thought. Got a link please? Ta

Aaaah.

Silly naming scheme. Have a look through this thead over at the Abit forums. If there's no solution in it then post on their forums. They're usually pretty good at trouble-shooting.

Thanks Cob, I'll have a flick through that properly when I've a few mins. I'll post back if I find anything. Although people are mentioning BIOS beta 13b. Might sort some issues out, eh?
