Abit UL8 Noises?

hello all

i have just installed the abit ul8 with amd athlon 64, ocz gold edition cl 2.2.2.5, @ 2.8v.

6200 using the latest driver.

i can hear noises coming from the cpu area only at desktop not in games and bios loadup, is this normal?

What kind of noises? A high pitched squeal?

Its usually capacitors squealing underload, but you said yours is at idle which is odd :confused:

thats what i think as well,but still no probs at all system seems to be fine for now

any other reason why and is it using 8 phase power?

If so, it may be the northbridge fan which Abit mobos have. If it is, you can replace it with the Zalman passive cooler mentioned in the thread for fanless silent cooling!

thanks ffor your post but this bioad is using passive cooling and the noise seems to come from the cpu area

I don't think capacitor noise means anything bad, its more of an annoyance than anything.
