Hi all, was going to do a new build with a Abit motherboard but have heard that Abit are going to stop making motherboards, can anyone confirm this?

Bye,

Ian...

Yes it's true, if I was you go for Gigabyte, they have a UK RMA base & their motherboards are very good & nice price.

Yep sadly Abit are no more in the motherboard market well soon anyway so not worth buying one of their boards tbh. Second the gigabyte recomendation though and if yours is anything like mine you won't be using the warranty anyway as so far not a problem to be found and doesn't look like any problems cropping up in the near future touch wood.

P5q boards are meant to be very good though people lately seem to have some problems with them but i doubt it is more then usual so if you know what your doing you should be fine with either an asus or a gigabyte.

Typing this now still using my Abit NF7s board :D :D :D Been rock-solid and can't fault it.

Looking at building a new system soon and the first mobo I looked for was Abit but then found out they stopped producing boards

Did look at the new Asus borads but been put off by price and working in an IT department, had quite a few dead Asus boards through our doors.

My moneys probably on a Gigabyte board for my new system.

Hi all, to Jeggsy i am using the same as you and has been a great pc, trouble is cant play a lot of the new games. I dont like Gigabyte boards and Asus do seam dear and if they die regular! i am stumped now....

Bye,

Ian...

Well, for me looks that best boards are made by Intel, if you not over clocker… for the rest, Gigabyte and Asus are same level makers, I have Asus, and can say that solid board, even I have small problems, but for performance level, support and board lay out, they are No 1
