About time Ecclestone went?

It's been about time Ecclestone went for about twenty years now. Problem is he's the only one that can smack some of the teams' heads together when they all agree about changing something but all disagree about how to do it.

Power went to Bernie's head long before he got his hands on F1. Don't forget that he represents the promoter and holder of the commercial rights. He doesn't want negative news being washed in public.

Sounds more like Pirelli don't want the negative PR in the media.

Indeed. Bernie was brilliant for F1 but has now outlasted his usefulness, but this is Hembrey not Bernie trying to gag the teams.

And tbh, I agree. Crying like a child that Pirelli are rubbish simply because "someone got a puncture" was a rather pathetic thing to do. Punctures happen.

They should be able to speak their minds by agree about them being whiney old women about a few punctures. They cry about anything remotely like rain and now we have them going on about closed cockpits again. Fair play to hulkenburg for actually accepting risk is part of the sport.

They get paid 10's of millions for the risks the drivers took in the 60's to 90's. Give them closed cockpits and pay them the same wage as a fighter pilot. It's less risky to be a f1 driver. Don't accept the risks, go do something else.

F1 is a business, businesses don't like the talent ****ging off the product. Bernie built the business, he is protective of it.

Just out of interest, what would actually happen if they did speak to the press?
Headline says 'told' then article actually says they were 'asked' not too.

If they all went together, what do they, drop all the drivers?!

Yep time he went. He's done some good things for the sport way back in the past, but more than not seems to be holding it back.

On thing I find wrong is that he is deciding on the tyre contact between Pirelli and Michelin, but already came out months ago declaring his love for Pirelli.

Wouldn't be a hard thing to do. Plenty of drivers in F2 and other leagues that would be willing to step in to take their place to try and prove themselves.

Because?

Blatter should have stayed in his position. People are being demented over going after Blatter. Up till literally today half the FA's in europe were backing Platini to take over Blatter and as was painfully obvious Platini is corrupt.

Blatter, Platini, it doesn't matter, when you have events that can bring billions in construction, funding, advertising to a place you can effectively choose there is corruption involved, that is the world we live in. Every now and then we get an investigation and the public get all upset at the apparent corruption then pretend it's all fixed when a new guy is in the seat.

The entire world is corrupt, I won't applaud getting one corrupt guy out when the people behind getting him out are corrupt and are doing it to get a corrupt guy who is in their pocket into that position. Putin is no less corrupt nor any worse than UK/US leaders who routinely start wars, invade countries and kill people for profit.

Frankly I can't stand it when people ignore the corruption everywhere but every now and then get upset about one specific person pretending he's the source of all evil. It's only when people feel slighted, the western world doesn't care about US/UK corruption, nor Fifa/uefa corruption when it works in their favour. We only get upset or care about Blatter when the world cup goes against us, had England won the world cup bid no one would utter a word against Blatter about corruption.

Bernie is as corrupt as anyone else, anyone making him money he'll be nice about publicly. He may despise Putin, or Cameron, Obama, but in their country when his profits depend on races held in those countries he'll support them.

It's not contrary, lots of people think the same as I do, I don't think it's smart. I think it's extremely obvious, so wrong on all counts which doesn't surprise me.

It's the psychology of it, it's extremely easy to see that almost all of these types of companies/groups are corrupt. Anyone who gets into a position of power will have people offer them things and it's mostly human nature to give in. Very very few people in such positions aren't corrupt.

It's not difficult to work out that Blatter is corrupt, what is absurd is how we hate Blatter and want someone else in because we assume he's corrupt.... but we ignore the fact the next guy will be exactly as corrupt. We ignore that the investigation was started after American got angry that their attempts to buy votes for their world cup bid failed and that the american representative they were happy with for decades is more corrupt than Blatter. They are said to be upset at Platini saying he'd vote for them then voting for Qatar instead... why did the USA think he'd vote for them, take a wild guess.

They only care about it when their corruption 'fails', while it worked they were fine to let it keep going. WHy do people think anything at all will change with a new Blatter in charge? The most likely successor was Platini, also obviously corrupt and we(as in the UK) were entirely happy supporting someone exactly like Blatter because we thought he'd help us out, until it became obvious he was going to get caught up with charges and literally over half a day went from full support to distancing ourselves.

90% of the actual corruption in Fifa is individual members, voted in by individual FAs of countries, selling their votes. Dyke getting accepting an expensive watch(and likely a lot of other things) but people just ignore it.

How can anyone hate Blatter individually rather than the institution in general, it's ridiculous. He acts as he does because that is what Fifa, and Uefa, gain power over something to make money. remove Blatter and literally nothing will change, but people want Blatter removed like he's the only cause.
