Have been lurking around in the forums for a few months now. With the help of fellow forum members I'm more or less settled on the components for my first time build.
My current system is a vista 32bit fossil that just can't play any of the new games I'm interested in.
The original idea was to use parts of my old system and gradually add more bits over time but have decided to try and save the cash and get everything in one go.
Will be calling the project "About Time Too" as well, it really is about time I got a new system.
It's mainly a gaming build but I will also be using ZBrush & PS etc as I'm really into 3D design. I will be adding another SSD at a later date but I will be saving my digital sculptures and paintings to my 500Gb external drive.
The build is still a few months off (still saving) but I would appreciate everyone's thoughts on the what I think is the final component list.
Cheers
Edit: Build will now include 16Gb of ram instead of the 8Gb in basket
My basket at Overclockers UK:

Total: £987.83
(includes shipping: £0.00)

Make sure you post back when you have the money, a few months is a long time in the PC world so don't just go and buy those parts when it comes. It's very likely you can get more for your money.

That's right, things move so fast you really should buy them in the morning and fit them in the afternoon.

Yes always wait till the last second to buy you parts, new stuff comes out all the time and you might change your speck. 16 GB would be better, very little extra money for a bit of future proofing

I'd say do you need a k series cpu? Are you going to overclock it? if so maybe get a slightly better cooler, I'd fund the better cooler for oc'ing by getting a psu that wasn't gold rated.

Cheers for the feedback guys. I'll add another 8Gb to the build as suggested.
Don't worry, I will be checking prices etc when it comes time to order.
@ jamesyboyjim, yes I will be trying my hand at overclocking, but I won't be going bonkers. Will be looking to get a nice stable overclock and not pushing the limit.
I know the H600 is quite new, is it not up to the task with a slight overclock?

It'll be fine for a bit of oc'ing just don't expect to be pushing the limits without going custom loop of your chip with it :)

In a few months when you are ready to order, you'll completely change your basket anyway haha :D
