About time we had nvidia and amd subforums?

Yet surprisingly the phones and movies sections are rather civil, even the console section is more civil than here.

I don't know about that. I was on the console thread a week ago and everyone was yelling at each other about Xbox one and PS4. It's no different there.

Too much snobbery here in the gpu section. ;)

That certainly brings shame upon us when the console folk are more civil. :D

It got a little heated after the Sony and MS E3 conferences the other night which is expected but other than that the folk over that neck of the woods get on nicely.

Read above.

Perhaps it's time the GFX card section took a hiatus for a while. Then certain individuals might realise that there is more to life than point scoring against people who buy products from a different faceless corporation.

Difference being we have a typical 18month upgrade cycle that's when all the shouting happens, consoles have 6-7 years :D
Console fans will belittle each other on the smallest of things same as AMD/Nvidia. Just happens more often here as we work on different timescales.

I think the GPU guys have passion. They will fight to the end for the brand they love. PC brings the beast out of you. Me too a little:p

If you take a step back though you start to realise how sad it gets at times what people will argue over on here.

Nonsense lol, it's all year round on here.

I don't think this forum is very heavily AMD orientated. The popularity of their recent efforts have won them more support, which doesn't surprise me due to the success of the 7000 series.

I know. It it hard to be here sometimes. I don't post all the time, Too many smart asses here... (Unnamed, but you know who you are) but the one thing I do like about coming here is...a lot of you guys know your stuff and if I have a issue and don't understand why something is happening, I know someone here will help me out and know the answer.

That's what makes this place special ;)

That kind of talk will earn you a reach around. ;)

Why cant we all just get along, group hugs all round and peace out.:D

Now here's a man who knows what hes talking about and likes a drink.

Yes and that's why I think separate forums for each brand would be better, people could get the help they need without more often than not having their thread took over by the usual suspects.

Was pretty quiet with the odd dig from certain people before Nvidia reshuffled and rumours of the Titan etc, it has got to an all new level since Nvidia went back in the lead of fastest GPU. The new drivers from AMD sparked a lot of fighting talk from hardcore AMDactivists, likewise Titan/780 has sparked a lot of talk from hardcore Nvidiaactivists.

It's more frequent because our upgrade cycles are so short, once a card is brought out it's not long before rumours are going on about the next etc etc etc, magic drivers and mid season player changes all add to that mix, that's my take on it.

In an ideal world both camps would stick to their own section however, I think we all agree there would be the same, if not more flame baiting than there is now.

Never gonna happen I'm afraid.

tbh I like the banter between amd and nvidia, just as long it keeps within reason.

Having the forum split up I dont think is a good thing. I dont go around reading up about nvidia news I see it here and if they was there own forum I would miss out on what happening on the green side.

Agreed. I was just about to say that. True. You guys love to fight....You do you love it. It would be boring without the other side right next to you....

I don't agree tbh, I think the majority would stick to posting sensible stuff in their own section. If people cross into the other and start intentionally looking for bites then swing thy mighty hammer of Thor.

When any topic goes off down an AMD v nVidia tangent you get roughly 2-3 pro-AMD posters for every 1 pro-nVidia poster.

Agreed. There would be a lot less problems.

And so it begins, again.
