About time we had nvidia and amd subforums?

we dont need sub forums, we just need to pay Rilot to be a 24/7 admin.. eh LtMatt?

:p

To be fair its not often Rilot deletes my posts, he normally saves the honor for other users.

Am I wrong?

EDIT: Oh yeah I forgot theres only nVidia fanboys and people who "don't have any attachment to AMD just don't like nVidia".

Yes.

I haven't even mentioned fanboys. One side is not more to blame than the other but you're so blinkered its not worth discussing such a topic with you as it only leads one way. Both sides are no doubt at fault.

Generally, the standard of debate here in this sub forum is actually pretty poor, and people get jumped on for neatly fitting into either sides fanboy camp when in fact they're just arguing a viewpoint which inconveniences somebody. I do think that a lot of people don't understand that somebody could possibly be neutral...

There are very very few people here who are truly neutral and get involved with the "debates" that go heavily down the AMD v nVidia road. Most of the ones that are truly neutral stay out of it after a page or so.

When any topic goes off down an AMD v nVidia tangent you get roughly 2-3 pro-AMD posters for every 1 pro-nVidia poster.

Oh yeah I forgot theres only nVidia fanboys and people who "don't have any attachment to AMD just don't like nVidia".

as long as I've been on these forums the majority of the time its been AMD bias, not that it really matters I don't have a problem with anyone sticking up for AMD or even nVidia for that matter.

You don't half talk some rubbish. Stop trying to shift the blame to one side or the other.

Off on a tangent with 'innocent' comments above tells a story.

Not you tommy. I like you:)

I know, you missed what I meant with the pic and the other comment. :)

Oh and for the record, I said "Stop giving misinformation", that is slightly different to calling you a liar and I will argue that case still :p

If you only wrote that bit, I wouldn't have said you called me a liar.

do it with honesty and stop giving misinformation

Interpretation taken as liar-in my book and some others reading that thread too.

No comment on why I mentioned sleekit???:p

Sub forums would not stop someone putting down AMD/Nividia in one or the other. The very nature of discussing GPU related material is often going to warrant comparison between the two, as it does with Intel/AMD for CPUs. If you don't like the comments don't respond or read them? One sub forum is enough.

As I said above I wasn't appropriating blame, whether one side or the other has the majority present in any given topic has no relevance as to the reasons a thread degenerates.

I was merely pointing out in response to the comment "I don't think this forum is very heavily AMD orientated" that over the history of this section of the forum there has tended to be a higher representation of pro-AMD people than there has been pro-nVidia, thats not ignoring either the majority of users who have a less invested stance in one or the other.

Maybe that is the problem. I would call my mates a liar and get called the same back but it doesn't end in a punch up. For sure it can get heated but never even close to kicking the crap out of each other. At the end of it, we are all good mates and have been for years on the football pitch, at cricket, playing golf and work. When you speak face to face, you get a true reflection of what is being said and as you are well aware, people read things that are said wrong. Oh and for the record, I said "Stop giving misinformation", that is slightly different to calling you a liar and I will argue that case still :p

VRAM has a lot to answer for :D

Still reading it how you want it to be read I see Tommy and jumping on Rroff at the same time. You have issues.

I have no idea what sleekit means and it gets a nice red line under it when I type it :D

What is all this talk of OCUK forums having more pro AMD users? How on earth did you come to that conclusion without a massive amount of sales data and/or a large poll based on purchasing history? If it's just a "feel", then it's meaningless.
More to the point...does it matter?
What even is "pro AMD"? Anyone that isn't pro "Best overall bang per buck at time of purchasing regardless of manufacturer" is surely a bit silly? Do people really care which they have in their machine for reasons other than bang per buck when purchased*?

EDIT: By bang per buck I mean weighing up at the time of purchase the best value for money card in terms of features and performance be it from green or red.

EDIT2: Say you buy Nividia because it is good in game X, that's still not "pro Nvidia" to me. It's simply, buying an nvidia card that time round. So?

We don't need subforums, we just need people to stop intentionally posting threads who are KNOWN to be fanboys for a particular brand, to start slating the other. When people remember that they are simply arguing over a PCB inside a metal box, the forum will get better.

Subforums aren't needed. What we need is people to stop trying to bait each other.
I'm closing this as it will only degenerate in to a point scoring match.
