Lads,
picked up an XTX yesterday and I'll be chucking it into the ASUS P5W tonight. Just wondering what peoples experiences are doing this...i.e. is it better to run driver installation again or just let the card get picked up by Windows etc.etc..
They are both HIS models anyway, so at least the niose level won't be too bad.
Also, without having the instructions here in front of me, I assume the Master card stays in the default slot ?

Cheers

Do the Crossfire cards need the drivers reinstalled ? I thought that was just Nvidia, I think when windows detected the new ATI card it used the existing driver. Only one way to find out i guess. Leave the master card in it's current slot and put the slave in the other one.

I want pictures :D

Would you believe I don't have a camera (apart from some crap camera phone) :(
I actually wasn't going to go ahead with a Conroe setup yet, but I had a offer I couldn't refuse with regard to the X6800 (390Euro). So it kind of expedited my next build. I was holding off on the graphics as well until the nextgen, but the great value the X1900 means I couldn't say no and kept the 7800 in the AMD rig.
Only going ahead with the XFire as I felt the single one doesn't quite give the smoothness I need at 1920x1200 with all options and AA up full.......its hard work driving those Dells !!
Probably spending more than I'd like to be putting this thing together, but when its sitting there all packed together in the S80 Black I think I made the right decision.
Never been one for overclocking, but I'll be getting around to it when a finalise the setup..........I'm delighted not to have 1 single crash or problem during the setup or up till now..........touchwood :p So I don't want to rock the boat so to speak....
