After many years crying looking at ebay prices for The World of Warcraft the board game and both its expansions, I have found a seller with all 3 (base game, Shadow of War and The Burning Crusade) for £450, he says he has wiggle room if I take all 3 (I don't need the base game as I already have it) so, I am going to chat with him tonight to sort out the details. Excited is an understatement, expensive yes, but cheaper than other listing elsewhere. Plus I can always sell on the base game for £80-£110.

so happy.

No Uk board game chat and trade facebook group. Member posted the listing 20 odd hours ago and I was first to reply. Been chatting on messenger. Got it all for £375 and hes chucked in Warhammer quest adventure card game for free. Collecting tomorrow morning. 1h20m drive there with 3 kids but its worth it.

for what its worth, BGG user listings are really over priced. Better deals on facebook groups. The burning crusade is listed for 400 euros english version on BGG

Is it even any good?
very good game but if you research it you will find lots of negative comments about downtime between faction turns, but with some variant rules/house rules time is cut down considerably. With 6 player (3 per factions) a game can take 6-10 hours. BUT I have played it 2 player, 2 characters each (so a 4 player game) in little over 2.5 hours and another time just over 3 hours.

Character progression is one of the best in any game and the combat, dice chucking, altough can be lengthy towards end game is one of the best combat mechanisms designed. These two points are widely agreed upon to. Very thematic, stick on a wow soundtrack on youtube, gets some mates round, snacks and play all day whilst socialising and having some great fun and memories.

its my favourite game and now I can play it in all its glory.

eidt: furthering the downtime game length, it has a lot of cards and ways to equip characters with items/spells/abilities etc, so I can see why people may have some Analysis paralysis and taking longer on their turns.

Is there anything that it's comparable to play wise? I always loved Warcraft but I've only ever heard of this game via other people's nostalgia for it!
erm.... not sure to be honest.
fantasy adventure game, dudes on a map, cards, character (engine building) progression. End game boss. I guess you could check it out BGG and see what other players like aswell, drop down under the more tab
