About to buy a DS Lite, a few questions...

Damn looks like I just missed out on Castlevania :(

Well I got my games, only played Mario Kart so far, took me about 10 mins of fiddling with my WRT54G then it was all up and online, had a few games online and god damn its fun :D No lag, nice and simple, 10/10.

And to think I was a single mouse click away from ordering a PSP a few days back!
 
That's me just back from town, picked up a white ds lite with super mario & animal crossing for £129.99 and it came with a free starter pack thing.


Time to go open it up and see what all the fuss is about :D

Brilliant! I got mine 2 weeks ago for my B'day and it's the best handheld I've had since gamegear!

How the hell do you get that quick start from the start line in Mario Kart?! I must have tried every key combination possible. :D

Just hold go when the number 2 is about to fade. You can keep that initial boost speed for the whole track on every track bar rainbow road.
 
My trouble is the powerslide, Ive been practicing it on figure 8 time trial. I lose ground instead of going faster with it. Pressing in the right top button then wiggling left and right to get the flames. Ive watched the staff ghost do it and I still can't go faster trying it.,

Any ideas?

I am also godlike a Mario Kart on the N64 but am a complete noob at the DS version, as said, power sliding / perfecting the turns is going to take some getting used to. Cant hop around them like on the N64 :p
 
It's very simple and the same method as snaking in MK64 and MKDD. Here you go:

I love how everytime I play sky garden online I lap at least 2 people :)

Edit: Don't wiggle, that's silly. Power slide then press dpad out-in-out and release R, repeat in the other direction. You can pretty much go in a dead straight line with the dry bomber with a heavy character in it when snaking. Triple stars on all courses is incredibly easy with snaking, helps if you know how to dodge blue shells too ;)
