Hi all

As per title, I'm looking for a new 65" TV and I'm pretty settled on a Samsung UE65F8000.

I'd prefer this to a plasma due to slimmer profile, less weight and less power draw, I also really like the look of the TV, super slim bezel etc. Additionally, I own the smaller 47" version and more than happy with it's performance.

So before I finally buy it, is there anyone here who would strongly recommend going for a different model, if so, why?

Thank you for your time.

Mike

Thanks.

Will research new models, release date etc....

When do you think the best time to buy would be? Right up close to refresh date or shortly after?

Having not researched yet, do you think the new line up would bring 4k def for similar price on a 65inch set?

Thanks

I have a 64F8500 Plasma and am very happy with it.

Appreciate you are not looking at the F8500 but it is very slim compared to my 50" Panasonic. It is also lighter than the Panasonic.

I personally prefer Plasma as the main viewing screen.

The only TVs that are considered to compete well with the Samsung 8000 for picture quality is the Sony Bravia W9 series, and the new W95 series. Samsung is supposed to have better smart apps, but the Sony is supposed to edge it on picture quality.
